1. Prambanan

This is the center of activities in the Sultanate of Yogyakarta.

4.  Parangtritis Beach

Parangtritis beach is the most famous beach in Yogyakarta. And also one of the most favorite tourists attraction. Located about 28 kilometers south of the city, this beach also in the shores of the Indian Ocean.

Because of that the waves of this beach is quite high and the current also strong. One of the unique part of Parangtritis beach is dunes that called gumuk around the beach.

According to the story and the believes of the locals, Prangtritis beach is a place that considered sacred place. According to the legend, this beach was the residence of Queen Kidul, the ruler of the famous South Beach. The Queen is wear green dress. Therefore, beach visitors are prohibited from wearing green color in any clothes they wear in the area of the beach.

5. Borobudur

Borobudur temple is the greatest and biggest Buddhist Temple of the world. It has four entrance in east, south, west and north. The main entrance is the one in the east. It has several levels, and the best way to see Borobudur is from east and then go clockwise until you back on the east side on each level. On the lower levels, there are a lot of beautiful relief panels, showing Buddhist way of life. On the upper levels there are no reliefs, but a lot of stupa and Buddha sculpture.
